Helen Sommers (born March 29, 1932) is a retired politician in the American state of Washington. She served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1972 to 2009. She represented the 36th district, as a Democrat.[1] At the time of her retirement she was the state's longest serving legislator.[2] She was born in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey and attended the University of Washington.[3] She was also a Charles Bullard Forest Research Fellow at Harvard University.[4]
