Helen Yarmak
Helen (Elena) Yarmak is a founder and designer of the Helen Yarmak fashion house (originally based in Moscow, RF).
Having been born in Kiev she has graduated from Kiev State University and then worked by calling in a Cybernetic Research Institute. She started to create and produce clothes in the early 90's. House's first models have been labelled "Helen" when in a little while "Helen Yarmak" brand appeared and became popular all around the world.
Helen is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, French Academy of Architecture and Design, International Informatization Academy.

Helen Yarmak Fashion House designs and produces furs, jewelry, crocodile bags and accessories. Boutiques and Show-Rooms of the brand are open all over the world: Moscow, New York, Milan, Zurich, Odessa.
Awards
- 2000 — Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year Award, "Women in business" organisation (Washington);
- 2002 — Creator of the Year Award, "Креатив & Creativity" magazine with the Journalists Union;
- 2003 — Leadership Awards, "International understanding" foundation (New York);
— During International New York Fashion Week Helen was awarded with "Best International Designer of the Year". And she is the only Russian designer to receive it; — Olympia Award for Russian brand promotion on the international market;
- 2005 — "For the revival of Russia in the 21st century" chevalier;
- 2007 — People of the Year in Russian America Award, Rambler.
Facts
Helen Yarmak first studied as a mathematician at Kiev University. Helen placed her first self-designed consignment order on the Moscow factory "Krasnaya Zarya", having introduced as a Canadian firm representative. Those sketches were so good that when it was already known about the lies, the factory still decided to produce an order. Vogue magazine named Ms. Yarmak - a "mistress of a sable mountain" (Vogue, November 1998). Moreover she was the first Russian designer whose collection appeared on a Vogue cover. She has a child called Anna Yarmak who married Vikram Kulkarni. They have 3 children. Helen Yarmak's grand children Max and Aaron Kulkarni visit her often.
