Helena Little (born 1960 in Hazel Grove) is an English actress who is best known for playing Mary Tomlinson in Casualty and she has also been in The Bill, Boon, Juliet Bravo, Between the Lines, A Touch of Frost, Peak Practice and Dangerfield. She played the lead role in the 1985 Remake of Oscar Wilde's "Lady Windermere's Fan".[1]
Early life
Helena moved to East Africa as a young girl with her family and boarded at St. Leonards Holy Child of Jesus from the age of 10. She completed her education at the senior wing of the school at The Old Palace, Mayfield, East Sussex. Holidays were spent in Kenya where Helena was an active member of Mombasa Yacht Club. From a very early age Helena declared her intention to pursue a career in acting and wend on to study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama for three years, graduating in 1981 with the Gold Medal. l.
Acting career
Upon leaving Guildhall she began her professional acting career at the Nuffield Theatre Southampton creating the role of Trixie Martin in the original production of Daisy Pulls it Off by Denise Deegan. The production transferred to the Gielgud Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue (then The Globe) where it enjoyed a long run. Helena is best known for playing Mary Tomlinson in Casualty and she also She played WDC Jane Long for 2 series of Phil Redmond’s Waterfront Beat as well as playing the title role in BBC’s "Lady Windermere's Fan".

Doctors, I Capture the Castle, Trial and Retribution, Peak Practice, Kiss and Tell, Cardiac Arrest, Hidden City and Capital City. A full list of credits is on IMDB. Helena’s last West End appearance was as Chrissy in Dancing at Lughnasa at The Garrick Theatre. Helena has also had experience as a director staging productions including; A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Caught in the Net (Ray Cooney) and The Poker Session (Hugh Leonard). She is a keen supporter and contributor to Chickenshed Theatre and the So and So Arts Club, formed by her old school and drama school colleague, Sarah Berger. Helena produces show-reels for fellow professionals.
Red Dot Drama
Helena began red dot drama in 2007 after discovering an interest in fun and engaging drama workshops for ‘young people with the dramabug’. Each term has a theme around which the weekly workshops are created and no two workshops have ever been the same. Most aspects of drama have been covered from Shakespeare to Stanislavski, reality shows to YouTube vlogging, and a number of ‘dots’ have gone on to study acting full-time. Red dot drama, which operates in South West London, is currently enjoying an expansion with more workshops due to launch in Autumn 2015, and a full integration with all aspects of its Voice & Accent department: http://reddotdrama.co.uk/
Voice and Accent Coaching
As classically trained actress with a great interest in voice production, Helena can adopt accents from all over the world, and so is ideally placed to provide coaching to clients who wish to improve their spoken English. Design
A love of art in early years has also led to a career as a designer. With her sister Fiona and their company Bravedesign, Helena uses her skills in illustration, photography and moving images to produce engaging graphics for print as well as film and animation.
Politics
As a lifelong labour supporter Helena is involved in the day-to-day running of the Wimbledon Labour party in WWH. She puts her considerable talents to good use in preparing interesting news letters for party members as well as organising for the elections.
Personal life
Helena lives in South West London with her son Jack Coulthard-Little (a budding film maker), and close to her partner, actor Paul Jerricho.
