Hemigraphis is a genus of plants in the family Acanthaceae, consisting of about 30 species native to tropical Asia. Hemigraphis is sometimes included in the genus Strobilanthes Commonly known as Red Ivy. It is chararcterized by the grayish green leaves, stained with red purple above and darker purple beneath. It is a prostrate growing plant with spreading, rooting stems. This plant has wound healing effect. It is known as Murikkooti.
