Hemiphractus scutatus (Spix's horned treefrog) is a species of frog in the Hemiphractidae family. It is found in the upper Amazon basin in Bolivia, western Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and southern Colombia.[2][3][4] Its natural habitat is tropical moist lowland forest.[1][3][4] It is a cryptic species. No major threats have been identified, but it can locally suffer from habitat loss. Its range includes several protected areas.[1]
