Heraldic china

Heraldic china is a term for tableware with heraldic arms painted on them. They are usually intended for use only on festive occasions.
British clients ordered china, many with heraldic motifs, from China. The trade of about 4000 services took place from 1695 until 1820, when a new prohibitive tax stopped the trade when the British government sought to protect the domestic potteries.[1] Many old heraldic china goods are sought after by collectors.
