Herbert C. Schenk

Herbert Christian Schenk was an American businessman who served as a Wisconsin Progressive Party. member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from Dane County.

Background

Schenk was born on June 26, 1880 in Leeds, Wisconsin.[1] He died on April 18, 1972 in Concord, California. He was educated in the Madison, Wisconsin public schools and at the Northwestern Business College. He was a retail lumber yard manager and then a retail hardware dealer.[2] Schenk is buried with his wife at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison, Wisconsin.[3]

Political office

Schenk was a member of the Assembly from 1935 to 1940. In 1944, he was the Progressive nominee for the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district. He lost to Robert Kirkland Henry.
