Herbert John Charles Browne
Herbert John Charles Browne, OBE, JP (1924 – 23 July 2015) was a British businessman.
He was in the service with the Swire Group in Japan and Hong Kong for many years and the chairman of the Cathay Pacific Airways from 1980 to 1984. He was also elected deputy chairman of Lloyd's Register of Shipping. He had also been appointed to many public positions, including chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Advisory Group and an unofficial member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1968 to 1973.
Browne married Veronica and had children, Laurence, Rollo, Stephen and Marcus. He died on 23 July 2015 in Bramley, aged 91.[1]
