Heritage Academy is a private college preparatory school in Columbus, Mississippi. It was founded in 1964 as a segregation academy.[1]

Campus

The school is located in north Columbus. The campus comprises 25 acres (100,000 m2), with two major classroom buildings serving students the elementary and high school areas. In addition to the gymnasium, athletic facilities include a lighted football field, soccer field, baseball field, softball field, practice field, and two elementary playgrounds. Also included are an indoor baseball/softball practice facility and a sports complex.

Accreditation

Heritage Academy is a fully accredited member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS).

Athletics

Barrett Donahoe and Yandell Harris serve as the directors of the school's athletic program. In 2012 the Heritage Academy football team won the MAIS Division 3 State Championship. Heritage also offers basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, powerlifting, tennis, golf, swim, track, cheer, and competitive dance.
