History

It's the most modern building in Xativa of the three conserved buildings of crucería vault, and the only one without any ogival arch. The hermitage is of gothic-flamenco style and it was built by the middle of the 15th century. Later it was added a high choir of starry vault of edge, on a robust arch carpanel. This work was made to expenses of Rodrigo Borgia, judging by the shield of one of the keys stamped with apostolic prothonotary's distinguishing characteristics, ecclesiastical dignity that showed that would be under the pontificate of the Pope Alexander VI.

The building is of rectangular plant, with buttresses and semicircular door of flat dovelas. The ship has three you cracked with vaults nervadas separated by arches torales and it finishes off in flat testero to the exterior and polygonal in the interior. This artifice, thought to confer wealth to the presbytery, is gotten by means of the placement of some trumpets in the angles that transform the head into a false apse. The nerves of the arches rest to half height it has more than enough cantilevers that are flat in the ship and esculturados in the apse. The choir was not reconstructed in the recent restoration by not belonging to the original factory.

They are remains of the stables and of the door that gave access to the enclosure, but most of the annexed constructions have disappeared, as the hermit's house, the hostelry, the stairway of the choir, as well as the walls and the roofs of the porch.
