Hidden races (Marvel Comics)
The Earth of Marvel Comics' main continuity (or, "Marvel-Earth") has contained a number of fictional hidden native humanoid races. A list of these includes:
Major races
- Deviants - The creators of the Subterraneans.
- Eternals
- Homo mermanus
- Atlanteans - A race of people that come from Atlantis.
- Lemurians - A race of beings that come from Lemuria.
- Inhumans - A small family of hidden Alien Kree survivors who evolved on earth millions of years ago. They now live on the moon.
- The Alpha Primitives - A slave race created from humans by the Inhumans from the Xerogen Crystals' gas. They are now on the moon.
- Bird-People -
- Mutants - An evolving superhuman race sometimes termed "Homo superior."
- Morlocks - Genetically altered offshoots of mutants who live in the underground.
- Savage Land Races - Various races living in the Savage Land.
- Subterraneans
- Deviants - An ancient race of humans.
- Gortokians - A race of Subterraneans.
- Lava Men - A race of lava-based demons.
- Lizard Men of Subterranea - A race of Lizard Men that live in Subterranea.
- Moloids - A race of subterraneans created by the Deviants
- Tyrannoids - An offshoot of the Moloids
- Vampires - A race of bloodsucking entities connected to characters such as Morbius and Blade.
- Zombies - A race of 'the undead' as seen in many common fictional literate artforms.
Others
- Cat-People - They are now extinct on Earth.
- Infra-Worlders
- The "People" - Humanoid lizards who first appeared in Ms. Marvel #20 and were killed off by the Dire Wraiths as depicted in Rom #9)
- The Outcasts - A small race or group of beings who became susceptible to Bruce Banner's gamma radiation.
- The Serpent-Men - They are now extinct.
- Stygians - A southern race of rock giants, monster creatures, magic sorcerers and dark sorcerers from Hyboria.
- The Troglodytes of Britain - They are evolutionary throwbacks who first appeared in Avengers #115.
- The Yeti - Also known as the Cold People.
