Higuerote (Spanish pronunciation: [iɣeˈɾote]) is the capital city of Brión Municipality in the state of Miranda, Venezuela.
The area was mentioned by Alonso de Ojeda on his 1499 voyage, and is named for the Indian cacique Igorote. Permanent settlement was established in the mid-nineteenth century.
