Hina Dilpazeer Khan (Urdu: حنا دلپذیر‎; born 16 January 1966) is a Pakistani actress, model, TV host and singer. She is best known her role Momo in Bulbulay, "Mitthu" in Mitthu aur aapa Shakooran in Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah and as Saeeda in Burns Road Ki Neelofar for which she won Kara Film Festival for Best Supporting Actress.[1]

She was nominated for Best Actress Satellite at 11th Lux Style Awards for her role in drama serial Tum Ho Ke Chup. Now she is working in drama Googly Mohalla as Sweety's mother.

Personal life

Dilpazeer was born to Muslim family in Karachi, Pakistan.[2] After completing her early education from Karachi, she moved with her family to UAE because of her father's employment. After spending some years in Dubai, Dilpazeer returned to Karachi in 2006. In her family, Dilpazeer was closest to her father. She remembers him as her "friend" and credits him for her many of her qualities.[3]

Besides being involved in television and theatre, Dilpazeer enjoys poetry and music and adores Roshan Ara Begum, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Master Madan and Begum Akhtar. She and Nadia Afghan were appreciated a lot for their roles in telefilm "Pichaal Periyaan"[4]

Career

Theatre has a limited audience and is certainly a little more difficult because emotions need to be expressed out loud and you need to know the script, word by word, Whereas, TV on the other hand, is a medium where even the smallest of gestures is captured by the camera. I prefer theatre. I simply love it.

In an Interview with The Express Tribune in 2012[5]

While Dilpazeer was in UAE, she experimented with radio. She wrote and performed radio plays. After returning to Pakistan, she started her career in 2006 opposite to Abid in the Pakistani media by landing the role of Saeeda in Burnes Road ki Nilofer, a TeleFilm by Ary Digital. Her acting in Burnes Road ki Nilofer was highly appreciated by the critics and the public alike.[6]

Dilpazeer loves theater work very much and has performed in several theater plays with one being National Academy of Performing Arts’ Dil Ka Kya Rang Karoon.[7]
