Hine-i-turama Ngatiki
Hine-i-turama Ngatiki (1818 – 2 April 1864) was a New Zealand woman of mana. Of Māori descent, she identified with the Ngāti Whakaue iwi. She was born in New Zealand on 1818 and married Phillip Tapsell, with their wedding carried out by Jean Baptiste Pompallier. While on a visit, fighting broke out and she was killed in the Battle of Orakau.[1]
