Principles
The Hinrich Foundation has stated its objectives[11] are to:
- Encourage equality in trade development by influencing policymakers to take a balanced approach and support open, free, transparent and fair global trade.
- Encourage both the private sector and governments to drive innovation and competitiveness.
- Sponsor the education and skill development of individuals who wish to participate in international trade.
- Provide practical trade services which in turn create jobs.
Programs
Trade scholarships & careers
The Hinrich Foundation sponsor educational opportunities for individuals who show a commitment to participating in or promoting innovative and competitive global trade. They offer Hinrich Global Trade Leaders Scholarships[12] to students from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and the US to study in China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Vietnam and the US. They ensure their scholars experience extended internships[13] and career development opportunities with export related partner organizations in ten countries.
Export trade assistance
They offer practical trade services to promote and coach producers on how to participate in global trade. Through Export trade assistance program,[14] the Hinrich Foundation connects exporters across developing Asia with buyers worldwide.
International trade research
The Hinrich Foundation believes that the health of the global economy and peace between nations depend on countries having productive trade relationships, which require open, fact-based dialogues.
