Historic South
Historic South is an area in central and east-central Georgia, United States. The region carries a strong cultural and architectural heritage. It contains three chief areas: Historic Heartland, Classic South, and Magnolia Midlands.
Geography
The Historic South covers the central and east-central portions of the state. It contains the counties of:

Major cities include Augusta and Macon. Some of the suburban areas of Atlanta, especially those of the Southern Crescent, are also included in the region.
