History of Civilization in Poland (Polish: Dzieje Cywilizacji w Polsce) is a cycle of twelve sketches with accompanying commentaries, by Polish painter Jan Matejko, created in 1888-1889. They are kept in the Royal Castle, Warsaw.^[1][2] The cycle consists of the following painings

• Zaprowadzenie Chrześcijaństwa w Polsce. R.P 965.
• Koronacya pierwszego Króla. R.P.1001.
• Przyjęcie Żydów R.P 1096.
• Pierwszy Sejm w Łęczycy R.P.1182.
• Klęska Lignicka-Odrodzenie R.P.1241.
• Powtórne zajęcie Rusi. Bogactwo i oświata. R.P.1366. (Second Taking of Ruthenia. Wealth and Education. A.D. 1366)

  Depicts the cornerstone laying ceremony of cathedral at Lviv. Casimir III the Great,s expansion into Ruthenia. Casimir, holding the Piotrków-Wiślica Statutes, throws a ring for the establishment of the first Roman Catholic church in Lviv.

  Another painting, not based on this sketch, Constitution of May 3, 1791, was completed in 1891.
