History of rugby union matches between Argentina and New Zealand

The New Zealand All Blacks first played against Argentina (Los Pumas) on 30 October 1976, but New Zealand did not award test caps for the two internationals on that tour, nor for Argentina's first internationals in New Zealand in 1979. The first Test match recognised as such by both teams was held on 26 October 1985, on a New Zealand tour of Argentina. In full Tests the teams have met 20 times, with New Zealand winning 19 and one drawn. New Zealand also won all the four early matches where only Argentina awarded caps. They have met three times at the Rugby World Cup, having been in the same pool at the inaugural tournament in 1987, then at the quarterfinals in 2011 and then again in the pool stage in 2015.

Starting in 2012, the teams will meet twice annually in The Rugby Championship, formerly known as the Tri Nations before Argentina's entry in that year.
