Ho Hum Records is an independent record label specialising in acoustic folk-electronica music. It was founded in 2007 in Crystal Palace, South London by Alex Pilkington and Mark Tucker, who between them have worked as songwriters, producers and engineers in a wide variety of genres and influenced by the state of the recording industry in 2007, decided to begin a new record label with focus on sustaining careers for artists and by offering recording and production time in their own studios, as well as space on their web-site to promote their music. Both Tucker and Alex actively produce most output on the label and have done since its inception.

Working alongside Ho Hum Records are Westbury Music who administer Ho Hum Music Publishing, ADA, Warners who distribute Ho Hum’s catalogue, XTaster who advise on marketing and various promoters including The Electroacoustic Club who have co-hosted Ho Hum music events at the Slaughtered Lamb pub in London’s Clerkenwell.

Artists currently on the label include Sophie Barker, Custom Blue, Beth Hirsch, Flotilla, The Formula, Mark Pritchard, Blue Rose Code, Lucky Jim (music) Metamono and The Willow.

As well as CD albums, Ho Hum Records release collectible vinyl and digital downloads which when downloaded from the Ho Hum site contain extras such as full PDF artwork.
