Holly Academy

Holly Academy is a charter school in Holly, Michigan which was founded in 1999. It provides instruction for students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The school's charter is through Central Michigan University.

Enrollment and class size

Class size is generally limited to 30 students or less, with three to four classes in each grade level. Enrollment for the 2006–2007 school year was 641 students in grades K through 8 (according to the school's Annual Report). Enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year was 656 students. Enrollment for 2008-2009 was 708 students. Enrollment for 2010–2011 was 779 students. Enrollment for 2011-2012 was 829 students. Enrollment in the 2012–2013 school year was 895 students. Enrollment in the 2013-2014 school year was 912. Enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year was 854.

Recent Achievements

Holly Academy is an MDE Reward School, with student achievement being in the top 5% of all public schools statewide. Holly Academy's test scores are consistently the highest within a 25-mile radius. Holly Academy outperforms every school in Genesee County and ranks in the top six of all schools in Oakland County. Holly Academy was made a School of Excellence in 2011. The director of the school, Ms. Kildee, was voted Administrator of the Year in 2012. In the 2014-2015 school year, middle school teacher Katherine Carswell was recognized as one of the top five charter school educators in the state of Michigan by MAPSA, Michigan Association of Public School Academies.
