History
Construction of the Homebush Bay Bridge was granted approval by the Government of New South Wales in March 2013 with construction commencing in September 2014. It will link Rhodes and Wentworth Point. It will carry State Transit Authority bus route 526, cyclists, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles. Private vehicles will not be permitted.[1][2][3][4]
The bridge is being funded by property developers in return for additional development density at Wentworth Point under a Voluntary Planning Agreement between the developers and the Roads & Maritime Services.[1] It is scheduled to open on 22 May 2016.[5]
