"Homosapien" is a song by Buzzcocks lead singer Pete Shelley. It was the first single from the album of the same title, released in 1981. The song reached number 14 on the Billboard Club Play Singles chart and number 6 in Canada.[1]
The song was banned by the BBC for "explicit reference to gay sex", e.g. the words "homo superior / in my interior".
