Honda UR-V

Concept

In 2015, a latest Concept D was debuted at Shanghai Motor Show 2015 (Auto Shanghai).[1] Concept D was unveiled in China only, thus assumption made indicated that if the vehicle was to be translated into production, sales will take place in China's market only and will be competing against luxury crossovers. It was successfully prepared by a successful joint venture (JV) of Dongfeng Honda and Guangqi Honda.

Production

Early April 2016, Dongfeng Honda and Guangqi Honda reported that a production version of Concept D will be unveiled by the end of April at Beijing Auto Show.[2]

The Concept D will be named as UR-V which stands for Ultimate Runabout Vehicle (or Ultimate Runaway Vehicle; Ultimate Revolutionary Vehicle). Due to the absence of Honda Pilot in China, it is expected for the UR-V to compete against the luxury mid-size SUV segment that includes Toyota Harrier and Nissan Murano.

Due to the nature of being a luxury mid-size sport-utility vehicle (SUV), it will be positioned above the CR-V and XR-V topping the product-line up of Honda's SUVs in China. Selling prices are ranging from $39,000 to $66,000 (US Currency).[3]
