General Hossein Alam-alhoda ( Persian: حسین علم الهدی ; 8 July 1958 – 5 January 1981 ) was born in Ahvaz. He studied history in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. He played an important role in the victory of the Islamic Revolution especially in Ahvaz. In the Iran Iraq war he was the commander of irgc of Hoveyzeh and finally was killed in Operation Nasr. He was buried in cemetery of Hoveyzeh.[1]

Early life

Hossein Alam-alhoda was born in 1958 in Ahvaz. He was raised in a religious family. His father was Ayatollah morteza Alam-alhoda's who had a great influence on Alam-alhoda beliefs and attitudes.[2] Alam-alhoda started to learn the Koran when he was 6 years old and he was able to teach at age 11. He joined the opposition movement against the Shah when he was just a high school student. He was arrested by SAVAK for the first time at age 16 and was tortured. In 1977 he was admitted by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in history which was his favorite field.[1][3]

Before Islamic Revolution

When he was a university student in mashhad he could attend Ali Khamenei and Ayatollah hasheminejad preaching meetings in KERAMAT mosque.along with tense of universities he came back home .in ahvaz Alam-alhoda and his companions distributed Ruhollah Khomeinis flyers.[3] they finally decided to start Armed actions against Shah regime.they formed MOVAHHEDIN organization.[3][4] they could assassinate POUL GRIM (American advisers and representatives of the consortium and Senior Manager of operation and production of south region oil),[5] lieutenant general JAFARIAN (the head of army forces in Khuzestan Province) and also GHOLAMHOSSEIN DANESHI (MP of Abadan, Iran).[1]

After Islamic Revolution

In the first days of the Islamic Revolution, ahvaz police station was captured by Alam-alhoda and his companions.they also could capture a garrison in ahvaz and arrest many of regimes military commanders. after the victory of Islamic Revolution,Alam-alhoda decided to dissolve the MOVAHHEDIN organization.he believed that all the independent groups should be dissolved and be mixed with people.

He was a member of council constituting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Khuzestan Province.he focused on the cultural parts in IRGC and tried to teach koran and Nahj al-Balagha to militaries.He wanted to strengthen the Iranian Revolutionary Guards religious perspective.[1][3]

Death

In Operation Nasr,Alam-alhoda who was the commander of Hoveyzehs IRGC and his companion,because of Abolhassan Banisadr betrayal,were besieged by Iraqi tanks.although they could destroy several tanks but finally all of them were being killed.Iraqi tanks crossed the dead bodies, so that no trace of them remained.16 month later Iranian forces could regain this region.then they tried to find the body of Alam-alhoda.but it was really hard after 16 month.

Finally they could recognize his body by koran he had in his pocket.he was buried exactly where he had been killed.[1][2][3][6]
