Howler is a quarterly soccer magazine for North American fans. It was founded by Mark Kirby and George Quraishi.[1] The magazine was crowd-funded on Kickstarter, raising $69,001.[2] It is currently on its 10th issue.

Issues

The inaugural cover featured a crazed Jurgen Klinsmann.[3] It was a satirical take on the U.S. men's national soccer team's recent victory over Mexico at Estadio Azteca.

The second cover showed Uruguay and, at the time, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as a scuba diver.[4] The issue contains an in-depth profile of United States men's national soccer team player Herculez Gomez, a look into the history of Inter Milan and much more.

Issue three depicts U.S. men's team captain Clint Dempsey during the snow game against Costa Rica in March 2013 and provides an in-depth look into the 100 years of U.S. Soccer. Issue four shows Lionel Messi and Neymar shaking hands in FC Barcelona jerseys while holding weapons behind their backs.

Issue five features an artistic drawing of the World Cup trophy. The issue features a 36-page timeline of World Cup history, as well as profiles of US soccer stars Matt Besler and Graham Zusi.

Issue six features 2014 World Cup star Tim Howard. The issue contains a profile of DeAndre Yedlin and the first American playing professional soccer in Afghanistan, as well as much more.

Issue seven features Portugal and Real Madrid C.F. star Cristiano Ronaldo. The issue also contains articles on David Beckham's quest to bring professional soccer to Miami, the supporters of now defunct Chivas USA, an in-depth look at FC Barcelona and much more.

Issue eight's cover was released on the morning of May 27, 2015. It depicts United States women's national soccer team star Carli Lloyd about to kick FIFA president Sepp Blatter's head. This release proved to have impeccable timing as the arrest of several FIFA officials was announced mere hours before.

The ninth issue was released in the fall of 2015. The cover features and artistic rendering of Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez, and includes a feature article on Tevez. Issue 9 also includes articles on the rise of Icelandic soccer, the scandal surrounding the demise of the podcast World Soccer Daily, and a humorous look at American goalkeepers' hair, or lack thereof.
