Hughson Union High School serves students from the rural community of Hughson, California, as well as the outer towns of Hickman, California and La Grange, California.
Extracurricular activities
Much of the community revolves around the high schools sports programs although in the last ten years the dramatic arts program has become more prominent. Hughson High's Academic Decathlon team has also, in recent years, been garnering more attention from its students, placing eleventh within their division.
Athletics
Hughson Union High School belongs to the Trans Valley League in the Sac-Joaquin Section of the California Interscholastic Federation. The school's teams, known as the Hughson Huskies, compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track, volleyball, and wrestling.
The football team has the claim of winning several state championships in its division. The wrestling team has also placed well at the state competitions, especially for a school of its size.
