The Humane Party is a national political party with a focus on animal rights and a sustainable economy.[1] Founded in 2009, the party requires all candidates, officers, and board members to sign an oath abstaining from the use of animal products and services.[2] The party's goals include abolishing the property status of animals, banning all GMOs, and replacing the electoral college with direct democracy.[3]
In 2015, Humane Party CEO Clifton Roberts, a vegan for 18 years, became the party's first presidential candidate.[2]
