Hymns is a 1965 Gospel album by American country singer-songwriter, Loretta Lynn.
This was Lynn's first Gospel album of her career. The album was a pick of 12 Gospel and Inspirational music songs that were either popular over the years or were written by Lynn herself for this album. Well known Christian songs such as "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" appear in this album. The album peaked at #10 on the Top Country Albums chart. Over the years, the album has been considered a rarity to find. It was reissued on CD by Geffen Records on August 20, 1991[2] and again by King Records on January 1, 1995.[3]
"Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" was covered by Alison Krauss & the Cox Family on their 1994 album I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.
