IAFL Team Ireland

Team Ireland sees the very best players of the IAFL, represent Ireland in American Football games around the world. The team is in Group C of the EFAF Championship, and is due to play its first game of the Group in 2010. The head coach is Marcus Naylor, who plays and coaches the Dublin Rebels.


History

Team Ireland played its first game back in 1986 against Marlboro Shamrocks (USA). Marlboro beat Ireland 36-0.

In 1995, Team USA came to Ireland. USA beat Ireland 47-12. Ireland played several teams in 1995. They met Great Britain, Hull University, Hannau Hawks and the English National team. Ireland won its first game beating England 45-0 in 1995.
