iMindQ is a commercial mind mapping and brainstorming[2] software application developed by the company Seavus, headquartered in Malmö, Sweden. The software can capture ideas, clarify thinking, manage meetings, manage information overload, task and project management with the use of mind maps.[3] The non-linear and logical approach in outlining ideas with mind maps assists in individual and group brainstorming sessions[4] . As from January 2015, iMindQ has approximately 300,000 users, including clients such as Swarovski, Belgacom, Volvo and Optus.[5]
Features
iMindQ is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X,[6] via the web with online version and as well on the mobile iOS[7] and Android[8] platforms. Users can open/save maps hosted within Microsoft SharePoint environment, and make changes to mind maps or projects regardless of platform.
Types of mind maps and diagrams that users can create in iMindQ are:[9]

- Organic mind maps
- Whiteboard (which includes concept maps, flowchart and other types of diagrams)
- Work breakdown structure(WBS) for project management [10]

File format
Besides the native iMindQ file format (.dmmx file),[11] the software opens mind maps in the following formats: FreeMind map (.mm file format), MindManager map (.mmap file format) and XMind map (.xmind file format)
The following file formats are available to save mind maps as:
- .dmmx - Default file format in which iMindQ saves the mind maps.
- .mm - FreeMind file format in which iMindQ stores the information from the mind maps.
- .mmap - MindManager default file format in which iMindQ stores the information from the mind maps.
- .xmmap - MindManager xml map file format in which iMindQ stores the information from the mind maps.
