ISIS' index finger signal is a gesture with the index finger raised up from an otherwise closed hand. For ISIS followers it is a sign of their cause.[1]

The gesture is alluding to the tawhid, the indivisible oneness concept of monotheism in Islam.[1] The concept of tawhid is central to ISIS' violent and uncompromising posture toward its opponents.[1] ISIS militants are actively reaffirming their dedication to their ideology when they display the sign.[1]
