Ian Greenwood (born 1985, in Leeds) is an English professional football coach currently working for Leeds United as a full-time academy coach. Former footballer who played as a Defender or as a defensive Midfielder
Coaching career
He previously worked as a football in the community coach for Leeds United as he worked towards his coaching badges. Between 2007 and 2014 he worked as an academy coach for Huddersfield Town. In 2014 he started to start work for Leeds United in the academy set up firstly as u18 coach, and then as YDP Academy Coach.
Playing career
He played as either a centre back or holding midfielder during his playing time. He spent 2003-2004 with FC KooTeePee in Finland. In 2005 he went out and played in the NCAA on a scholarship to Heidelberg in the USA.[1][2] In the USA he also had spells in the lower leagues of the USL with Toledo and Cincinnati. After time in the USA he returned to England to play semi-professional football. Upon returning to England he played for Pontefract Collieries before transferring to Yorkshire Amateur during the 2007 season.[3] In 2008 he played for Glasshoughton Welfare.[4][5]
