Ian Sturrock
Ian Sturrock is a noted rescuer and restorer of orchards and apple trees, and has saved a number of apple species from the brink of extinction. He is notable for having discovered the last remaining Bardsey apple, and for rescuing the Diamond apple, as well as many other Welsh Apples.
Sturrock owns a nursery near Bangor, Gwynedd comprising over 4000 fruit trees, mostly rescued by grafting cuttings on to rootstock.
