Ian Williams (writer)

Ian Williams is a Canadian poet and fiction writer. He is the 2014-2015 Canadian Writer in Residence at the Calgary Distinguished Writers Program, based at the University of Calgary.

Williams is the author of Personals (poems, 2012), which was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize and the Robert Kroetsch Poetry Book Award.[1][2] His collection of short stories, Not Anyone's Anything, won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award.[3] His first book of poetry, You Know Who You Are, was shortlisted for the ReLit Awards.[4] CBC named Williams to its 2012 list of Canadian writers to watch.[5]

Williams earned Honours B.Sc., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto. He is currently an English professor.[6]
