Ido Bachelet is an Israeli musician[1] and scientist. He is a principal investigator at the Nanotechnology center, in Bar Ilan University.[2]

Education

Dr. Bachelet earned his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he performed research under the supervision of Prof. Francesca Levi-Schaffer.[3][4][5][6] Was a postdoctoral fellow at M.I.T. in biological engineering and Harvard University in immunomics and DNA nanotechnology at the George Church lab.[7] He is currently an assistant professor in the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Nano-Center at Bar Ilan University, Israel. Bachelet is the founder of several biotech companies, such as parasight.

Research

Bachelet is known for his contribution to the fields of DNA origami, Nanotechnology, and Nanorobotics. His well cited [8] paper "A logic-gated nanorobot for targeted transport of molecular payloads",[9] which deals with nano robots being able to kill cancer cells, created an important interface betaween the field of DNA origami and medicine. Bachelet is known for his interdisciplinary research. In his lab, biology, music, computers, computational biology, and psychology, are combined.
