Illiana
Illiana is the general area around the border between the U.S. states of Illinois and Indiana, containing the eastern edge of Illinois and the western edge of Indiana. The word is a portmanteau of the two states' names.
The name also applies specifically to Illiana, Illinois, which is the name given to that part of the Indiana town of State Line that protrudes west across the border into Illinois.
Cities
Major Illiana cities include the Chicago metropolitan area and Hammond, Indiana. Danville, Illinois is a significant community in Central Illiana, while the cities of Terre Haute and Evansville lie close to the line farther south.

In the will of a great great grandfather, probated in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, in 1883, he described a farm that he owned, thus: "“State Living” farm, situated in the county of Edgar in the state of Illinois, and in the county of Vermillion in the state of Indiana, about 150 acres of said farm being in Edgar County on the west side of the State line between Indiana and Illinois, and about 460 acres lying adjoining and on the east side of said 150 acres: the farm is situated half a mile north of the Rail road running from Indianapolis to Decatur and half a mile north of said rail road where it crosses the State line aforesaid, known as Illiana."
