Imdad Hussaini

Imdad Hasnain (Sindhi: ﺍﻣﺪﺍﺩ ﺣﺴﻴﻨﻲ, Urdu: ﺍﻣﺪﺍﺩ ﺣﺴﻴﻨﻰ) (born March 10, 1940) is a prolific Sindhi poet and writer of Pakistan.[1][2]

Imdad Hussaini is one of the great Sindhi poets of Pakistan. He is a poet, short story writer, scholar and lyricist. Many famous singers including Abida Parveen, Bilquis Khanum, Arshad Mehmood, Rubina Qureshi and Zarina Baloch have sung his songs for Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television. He was born in Tikhura, a village on the left bank of the river Indus in the previous district of Hyderabad, Sindh. His father's name is Syed Fazal Mohammed Shah, who was the first cousin of Syed Miran Mohammad Shah. Syed Imdad Hussaini is an educationist by profession. He has worked in various literary Institutions of Sindh, such as the Sindhi Adabi Board, the Sindh Text Book Board, the Institute of Sindhology and as a member of BOG of the Sindhi Language Authority. He was Secretary of Sindhi Adabi Board during 1992-1993, editor of Sindhi Adabi Board's literary journal, "Mehran" (quarterly) from 1977-1979 and its Managing Editor from 2004-2006.

He translated in Urdu, Mirza Qaleech Baig's famous novel Zeenat; Urdu translation by Imdad Hussaini; published by Academy of Letters, Islamabad in 1978.
