Critical reception
Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop gave the album 8/10, concluding that "Florida rapper Denzel Curry comes through with some of his most introspective and savage tracks yet on Imperial."[4] Stereogum described the album as "a hazy, gurgling rap record that’s clearly the work of an active mind".[5]
