Imran Rahman is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).[1][2][3][4] Rahman has been with ULAB since 2006 when he held the position of Director of the School of Business.[2] Two years later he was promoted to Pro Vice Chancellor. He worked at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) between 1984 and 2009.[5] He has also worked in the field of corporate business, like his position of Director of Sonali Investments Limited.[6] He plays guitar in a Bangladeshi soft-rock band named Renaissance.[7]

Education

Rahman was attended for a PhD. [8] He was a Commonwealth Scholar at the Announcement Effects of Rights Issues on the London Stock Exchange, Manchester Business School, England. He graduated from Dhaka University's IBA with an MBA. He did his Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.[2]

Career

Imran Rahman is the vice chancellor of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) from 2011.[1][3] He is the professor and director, School of Business at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh(ULAB). He worked as an acting vice Chancellor in ULAB from 2011. He also was the Pro Vice Chancellor at ULAB from 2008 to 2011. Prof. Rahman is also the Director of the ULAB School of Business since 2006. He was The associated professor of Finance at Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka from 1984 till 2009.[5] He was the Chairperson Of BBA Program at IBA in the year of 2001 to 2003. He was the director at Equity Valuation Research and Distribution Ltd from 1994 till 2005. He was the Financial consultants as a part-timer in Contessa Consultants Ltd from 1996 to 2003.[2]

Rahman is one of the Directors at Sonali Investments Limited.[6]

Music

Imran Rahman grow up in a cultural and educated family.[9] His mother was an renowned singer her name is Mallka Parveen Banu. Her mother was the first female artistes of Radio Pakistan in Dhaka.[10] Imran Rahman started taking guitar lesson in the age of 15 along with his friend and former Renaissance band member Faisal Siddik Bogi. He also Practice with Nokib Khan and Pilu Khan Before going abroad for Higher Education when the band was formed in 1985. He Joined Renaissance in 1999. His first recording with the band in 2004 by "Koto Je Poth".[11] It was in The last album of renaissance named "Ekush Shotoke". Now Renaissance perform once in a month at 'Spaghetti Jazz' an Italian bistro at Gulshan 2, Dhaka.[10]
