The Indian 50-rupee banknote (₹50) is a denomination of Indian currency. It was first introduced by the Reserve Bank of India in 1975. The first 50-rupee notes had the ashoka stambha; this was replaced by a watermark of Mahatma Gandhi in 1996.[2]
