Indian Institute of Fire Engineering, Nagpur (IIFE) is the first Government of Maharashtra recognized institute in India for advanced courses in Fire safety engineering and Security management studies. It was established in 1996.

Over the last 18 years the institute has gained an excellent reputation in the field of Fire and Safety education. IIFE is registered under the Government Society Act 1860 (Regd. No. MAH-365/97) and is recognised by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) and Director of Technical Education (DT Board), Mumbai.[1]

Location

IIFE is located on 05 acres of land at Makardhokda, Near Friends Colony on Nagpur Katol highway, Nagpur City Nagpur.

IIFE has modern infrastructure and facilities such as well ventilated class rooms, modern laboratory, practical ground, hostel building, mess, latest books Library, film and video library, training centre computerized information’s, exhibition gallery and latest equipment’s for live practical of fire fighting at its Institute’s premises.

Vision

The founding vision was stated as " to mitigate the threat to life and properties through quality education in training, prevention, inspection and preparedness."

Hostel Facility

The hostel building is located near the main college building. The institute is presently trying to cope with the need to accommodate the increasing number of students.

Hostel intake is currently about 200 students.
