The Indian general election, 2004 in Kerala were held for 20 seats in the state.
The result was an overwhelming victory for the Left Front (LF) which won 15 seats. Indian National Congress, suffered the greatest loss in Kerala, since it did not even win a single seat, even though it won 8 seats in Indian general election, 1999. Even though Indian National Congress did not win a single seat in Kerala, the outside support from the Left Front proved valuable, for Congress to have a stable government for the next 5 years. The other 5 seats were won by Kerala Congress (1), P.C. Thomas's Indian Federal Democratic Party (1), Indian Union Muslim League (1) (Part of United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Janata Dal (Secular) (1), and an Independent candidate (1).
