Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari (इंदिरा गांधी विश्वविद्यालय मीरपुर, रेवाड़ी) is a state university in located in Village Meerpur, District - Rewari, Haryana (India). It is a newly established state run University under Indira Gandhi University Meerpur act no. XXIX of 2013. Earlier, it was a regional center of M.D. University Rohtak since 1989. University starts functioning w.e.f. 13 Sept. 2013 the day Sh. Mohinder Kumar, IAS (Retd) resume office as founder Vice Chancellor of the University who served the University since 13 Sept 2013 to 21 July 2015. At present, Dr. D. Suresh, IAS, Commissioner, Gurgaon Division is assigned charge of Vice Chancellor of University and Dr. Madan Lal Goel is Registrar on University. University has only unitary character and have no affiliated college.

Department of Computer Science & Applications

This department is one of the best Department of Computer in state. Dr. Savita Kumari (Sheoran) is In-charge of department. Professor Randhir Singh Sangwan has been assigned duties of Chairperson of Department and Dean of Faculty of Information Technology. Department have following courses:-

The department has organised National conference on Advanced Computing Research on 20 February 2015 (Dr. Savita Sheoran as Organising Secretary) which was inaugurated by Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, His Excellency Governor of Haryana and Chancellor, Indira Gandhi University Meerpur, Rewari. Department is also running Computer literacy programmes for girls/women from rural area in the vicinity of university.
