Infinit is a large-scale decentralized (peer-to-peer) file system[1] that has been designed with redundancy, fault tolerance and scalability at heart. Infinit has the particularity of aggregating capacity from various storage resources being local (disk, SAN, NAS etc.)[2] or cloud (through an API), hence creating a virtual storage pool.[3]
Infinit's architecture relies on a combination of distributed hash table for the object-store on top of which the file system is built to provide decentralized access control, POSIX compliance and more file system capabilities.
