About

Started on November 2011, the course is the only undergraduate course offered by an IIM. The founder was erstwhile director N Ravichandran. [1] Majority applicants are students just completed with higher secondary education or want to switch from current streams and are still in the age eligible bracket. The course is a blend of 3 years of social sciences, commerce, and science along with extra-curricular activities. The post graduate years involving core management subjects. The vision is that when young minds are exposed to a variety of thoughts, opinions and ideas, along with a basic understanding of commerce, they are more likely to be leaders than managers. The course faces mixed reviews including positive feedback by management professionals for its holistic development as well as backlash by some of the other IIMs since it broke the post graduate tag of the premier set of institutions. In the fourth year, the students of IPM are merged with the PGP students entering from CAT.
