International School of Paphos

The International School of Paphos, Cyprus, was founded in 1987 as a co-educational day and boarding school. With the changes in population dynamics, the services provided by the boarding department were suspended. The school is now a day school with new facilities on the outskirts of Paphos, in Mesa Xorio, Anavargos.

The Ministry of Education and Culture has classified all the registered schools in recent years according to the curriculum they offer. The Secondary Department of the International School of Paphos has been classified as ‘similar’ to Greek schools. The school awards a School Leaving Certificate (Apolyterion).[1]

The school has strong links with the British Council as well as three of the most prestigious and well-known examination boards in England: Edexcel, CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and AQA.

The primary school covers under its umbrella the kindergarten, the infant classes (reception, year one and year two) and the junior school (years three to six). The secondary school (years seven to 13) prepares pupils for external examinations up to ‘A’ Level in year 13.[2]

The Headmistress of the school is Dr. L Olympiou.
