Ion Panţuru (September 11, 1934 – January 17, 2016) was a Romanian bobsledder who competed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was born in Comarnic.
He started practicing bobsleigh at the age of 24, after playing football at the Divizia B-level.[1]
With his brakeman Nicolae Neagoe, he won the bronze medal in the two-man event at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble. As of the 2010 Winter Olympics, this is Romania's only medal at the Winter Olympics. He also finished tenth in the four-man event at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo.
Panţuru also won two medals in the two-man event at the FIBT World Championships with a silver in 1969 and a bronze in 1973. He died in Ploiești in 2016.
