Ipswich Stadium

Ipswich Greyhound Stadium was a former greyhound racing track in Ipswich.[1]

The track was built in London Road during the late 1930s and the racing was limited to independent racing. It was not until 1974 that the track switched to National Greyhound Racing Club rules. As a result the venue enjoyed success with good attendances and attracted top trainers including Joe Cobbold.

The race distances were over 277m, 437m, 647m and 832m and a major race was held called the Suffolk Derby.

The track ceased NGRC racing in 1989 and some time later the track was redeveloped into a shopping area.
