Ira Thor

Ira Thor (born January 20, 1977) is an athletics communications professional and a sports announcer in the New York-New Jersey area.

Thor is the press box announcer for the New York Giants of the National Football League and has served as a men's volleyball play-by-play announcer on ESPN3 and for USA Volleyball. He has also served as the public address announcer for the New Jersey Wildcats since 2013 and has also handled similar duties for Sky Blue FC.

Thor is also the current President of the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA), President of the Division III Sports Information Directors of America (D3SIDA) and member of the Board of Directors [1] for CoSIDA.

He has held the position [2] of sports information director at New Jersey City University since August, 2000, where he handles the University's athletic communications. He previously was a staff writer for the Bergen Record.

A native of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, he's a 1995 graduate of Fair Lawn High School and 2001 graduate of William Paterson University. He resides in Howell, New Jersey with his wife and three children.
