Irakkamam is a village located in the Eragama Divisional Secretariat, Ampara District, Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. It has around 15,000 people. 100% Educated Population. One of the rapidly growing village in the country. Most of the people are engaged in doing government jobs and foreign employments. Irakkamam is the most popular ancient village in the province. A tile factory and a sugar factory are located in the territories of the village. After 1985, there was a massive growth in terms of education, culture, business and other sectors.
